Ich habe die negativen Rezensionen hier vorher gelesen und habe das Buch dennoch bestellt, denn ich dachte, so schlimm kann es ja nicht sein, wenn es so oft verkauft wurde. Ich habe das Buch nur bis Seite 224 gelesen und dann aufgegeben, weil es einfach zu langweilig und nervig war. Die Charaktere sind simpel gestrickt. Bei allem, was als geheimnisvoll aufgebaut wird, ist vom ersten Moment an erkennbar, worauf es hinausläuft.Am meisten stört mich aber die völlig einfallslose Sprache. Mehrere Sätze in Folge, die immer mit "I" anfangen, identische ausgefallene Verben in zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Sätzen und ähnliches, was bereits in der 5. Klasse als Ausdrucksfehler angestrichen wird. Zumindest das hätte ein ordentlicher Redakteuer vom Verlag beheben müssen.Dann die endlosen Beschreibungen von Christian Grey als "so sweet", "so hot", "so unexpected" kombiniert mit einer dauergeilen, gehirnamputierten Hauptdarstellerin, die die meiste Zeit in Anwesenheit von Christian Grey kein Wort rausbringt. Dafür dürfen wir als Leser aber an ihren Gedanken teilhaben, die primär aus "Oh no", "Holy s***", "Holy crap", "Oh my", "Oh, please", "Holy hell" und "Whoa" bestehen. Da habe ich mit meiner Zeit echt Besseres zu tun.
Man muss das nicht wirklich haben. Leider bin ich auf den allgemeinen "Grey-Hype" nun auch hereingefallen und hab das Buch als Kindle-Version heruntergeladen.Was soll ich dazu sagen ?Naive Literaturstudentin (noch Jungfrau - und das im Seattle des 21. Jhd. !!!!) trifft geheimnisumwitterten Multimillionär, der auf Sado-Spielchen steht. Das wars dann auch schon. Inhaltlich hangelt sich das Machwerk von einer "Stellung" zur nächsten, das ist weder spannend noch anregend, sondern schlicht langweilig.Ich frage mich, was James damit bezweckt. Die seelischen Befindlichkeiten der Protagonisten werden nur oberflächlich abgehandelt, es gibt allerlei düstere Hinweise und Vermutungen, die aber allesamt im literarischen Nirvana enden. Das mag allenfalls für einen pubertierenden Teenie interessant sein, der/die sich für sein/ihr späteres Sexualleben hier die eine oder andere Idee oder Anregung holen kann. Irgendeine Handlung kann ich nicht entdecken, irgendeine Spannung wird auch nicht aufgebaut, das Ende ist so banal wie der Anfang.Und schriftstellerisches Talent ? Vielleicht für Groschenromane oder billige Sexheftchen, die unter dem Ladentisch verkauft werden. Nicht für einen Roman, der dann auch noch literarische Ansprüche hat.Die einzige Rechtfertigung, die Autorin und Verlag für dieses Machwerk haben könnten, ist, mit möglichst schonungsloser Beschreibung sadomasochistischer Sexualpraktiken die Auflage und den Verkauf in die Höhe zu treiben und dabei nicht auf dem Porno-Index zu landen. Das scheint - verbrämt mit einem literarischen Mäntelchen - wohl auch gelungen zu sein, ist und bleibt aber so überflüssig wie der proverbiale Kropf.
Ich habe das Buch auf Anraten einer Freundin hin gelesen, nachdem der Hype um den Film schon fast wieder abgeklungen war. Das Buch ist wirklich nicht sonderlich anzüglich, in weiten Teilen sogar eher gefühlsduselig. Erotische Szenen sind doch eher rar.Die Protagonistin Anna verliebt sich in den Milliardär Christian. Ca. 95% der Handlung bestehen nun daraus, dass sie versucht mit seinem exzentrischen Lebensstil, seinem Kontrollwahn und seinen Minderwertigkeitskomplexen klar zu kommen. Im Großteil des Buches ist Anna daher im inneren Monolog mit ihrem Gewissen und erörtert Fragen wie "Was soll ich nur tun? Er wäre perfekt, wenn er diese Fehler bzw. seltsamen Vorlieben nicht hätte...". Alles also eher normal und nicht wirklich bahnbrechend.Bis sich Anna auf Christians Fetisch einlässt, hat man als Leser schon die Hälfte des Buches hinter sich. Insgesamt ist das Buch als leichte Lektüre gut geeignet und bietet tatsächlich spannende Einblicke in die SM-Szenerie. Schriftstellerisch ist es aber keine große Meisterleistung und kommt mit dem Hype um die Story nicht wirklich mit.
